Saint Joseph’s Oratory Foundation: Auction on Mount Royal

MONTREAL, QUEBEC - The Saint Joseph’s Oratory Foundation invites the public to take part in the Oratory’s second auction. Under the patronage of actress Rita Lafontaine and Senator Jean Lapointe, auctioneer Claude Champagne will offer over 180 valuable items on sale to benefit the major renovation project that will make the Oratory more accessible to the two million visitors yearly.
Historical and contemporary objects
The 180 items include paintings (such as those of Marc-Aurele Fortin, P. Picasso, Jean-Paul Riopelle, Normand Hudon, Suzor Cote, Jean-Paul Lemieux, John Little, Salvador Dali, Francesco Iacurto, Pierre Tougas and Frere Jerome), sculptures, books, ancient furniture (including European cabinets from the beginning of the 19th century), stamp and coin collections, jewelry, etc.

The Saint Joseph’s Oratory Foundation
Established in 2001, the Saint Joseph’s Oratory Foundation coordinates the fund-raising campaign for the Oratory’s renovation project. The work, which began in 2002, should be completed by 2010. The project is estimated at $75 million.
