British Columbia Natural Gas Blind Auction Raises $213-million

British Columbia raised $213-million from natural gas explorers keen to secure exploration acreage in the northeastern area of the province, announced the B.C. government yesterday.

The take from the blind auction of exploration rights increased the total for 2008 to $972-million, almost beating the annual record of $1-billion set last year in just six months.
